Reading for Amodes is postponed

Dear parents,

This is to inform you that the Reading Amodes will be postponed to Friday and next Monday as I am down with stomach flu. I will be back on Friday.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

1) Please be reminded that there will be spelling tomorrow.

2) Please hand in the Learning Journey to the Zoo reply form and $10 tomorrow.

3) Please be reminded that the letter regarding the National Day has been given today.

4) As for the photo collection for National Day, I would be taking pictures of your child on Monday. Please allow him to bring clothes that would display his ambition.

5) The P1 Evening of Theatre has been postponed to 4 Sept.

Young Gentleman Award for Semester 1

Congratulations Ammiel Jr. Wan (left) and Kienan Yong (right). Well done boys! The Young Gentleman Award is to recognise boys who display gentlemanly attributes found in the school vision as a Catholic High Gentleman.

EL week acitivty

Hi parents,

Next week is the English week where we celebrate the love of the language and appreciating it. For the P1s, we will get them to participate in "famous in 60 seconds"! They will need to choose a character from a story of their choice and act it out (so they will need a script to memorise their lines). It must be a character who is easily recognised by everyone as there will be a competition. The best performer of 1 Peace will get to compete with the rest of the boys of the level for the grand prize ;)

In order for them to be convincing as the chosen character, they will need to act and dress up like the character. The costume must be made and not bought as we want the boys to take ownership for what they do. We want to see creativity and we want it to be authentic at the same time. For eg., as a big bad wolf in little red riding hood, he will need to get a hairband and draw the wolf's ears and stick them onto the hairband to look more like the wolf. Also, they could tie a brown cloth like a cloak around their neck as the body of the wolf or even draw and colour on a plain white t-shirt.

Hope it helps to clarify what we are going to do next week. Have fun spending quality time with your child! Can't wait to see all the performances!

There will be learning journey on either 30 or 31 July. To avoid cancellation of spelling, I will change the date to 28 July (Tuesday) as there will be CL spelling on Wednesday.

2) Spelling list for English is given. The dates are given as well. There will be spelling every Friday except for 2 days. Please sign to acknowledge.
