Parent volunteer for Literacy Block 2010

Dear parents,

It's time of the year again! We need at least 5 parents who are available to read to our boys and get them to write a book review during the half an hour period. I will be allocating the first period of Wednesday for Literacy Block. If you are available, please sms or send me an email to indicate your interest :)

1) Letter on Amodes for CA1 has been given today. The components are listed in each subject.

2) I will give out the poem for the reading component tomorrow. Please help them by allowing them to recite it to you. Check for their volume, pitch and articulation. It will be a bonus to read with emotion as it shows that they understand the poem.

3) The rubrics will be given out tomorrow as well.

1) Health screening is on 18 January, next Monday.

2) Hand in Eureka Science book on Monday.

3) Homework for EL : Complete page 6 - 7 in the Grammar Assessment book.

1) The spelling list has been given. Spelling will be given every Thursday starting from 21 January 2010. Please sign to acknowledge that you have read it.

2) A letter on the grammar & vocabulary items to be covered this term is also given. Please sign as well.

1) Please be reminded that there will be temperature taking this Thursday, 7 Jan 2010. I will check that the thermometers are in working order tomorrow. If the thermometer is spoilt, I'll inform the respective boys to get a new one.

2) Lifeskill HW - In appreciation of his unique self, he has to design an art piece using the letters of his name to create positive adjectives to describe himself.

Welcome back to a new year!!!

So happy to see the boys today! They have grown! They looked more alert and comfortable, ready for the new year at school :)

Below is a list of things that they had to take note of:

1. 3 letters were given

2. Hand in report book, brown file, spelling book and Social Studies activity book tomorrow

3. Please verify and sign the Individual Student Detailed Report and hand in tomorrow.

4. Bring drawing paper, magic pens and colour pencils tomorrow.

Dear parents and boys of 1Peace,

How've you been? Hope you have fully enjoyed your holidays. 2009 is coming to an end and you are going to Primary 2 soon! :D Are you excited about it?

杨老师will not be teaching you next year but you are going to have a very good chinese teacher for P2 so please remember to behave yourself and listen to her. : )
