Let's re-visit the tips for Oral Examination!
We have been practising the procedure for Oral. We have been reading some sample passages and discussing a sample picture.
The following phrases are the sentence stems for them to start their picture discussion. They must have a clear sequence in describing the picture. They must start with the focal point which is the problem area, followed by the event that contributed to the problem area (usually start from left to right after the focal point is mentioned).
1) This picture shows a scene of a ... (general statement)
2) I can see ...
3) I think / I feel that ...
4) I like / do not like ... because ... (To give their opinions about the segments of the picture)
5) In conclusion ... (This is used to end the picture discussion. It has to be a general statement to wrap up the picture discussion component.)
At the end of the picture discussion, encourage them to share their opinions about the picture using the sentence stem (5).
